Always be aware

A friend of mine was on his way to college today, walking, he got approached by some dude at a few meters from the entrance, this person said that my friend was wearing his sun glasses, my friend kept walking and the dude followed him grabbed him, stole the glasses then he pushed him and punched him, knocking him down. Next thing you know he enters the college to get help,  and the criminal WAS in the college, he studies there.

This just shows, that it doesn't matter were we are, there's always a possibility that dangerous people are around us, specially when we are alone, we need to be careful. And be aware.

  1. Gotta agree, that's not a cool situation. What would've been the most wise decision? Give him the glasses so you don't fight over glasses?Protect the glasses, open a can of whoopass on the dude? These situation happens so fast, you gotta think quickly. You don't neccessarily wanna fight for glasses but i think than it is more about protecting yourself than the glasses, because once you let people like that take advantage over you, you're on for a second time and a third time and so on. So from my personal views, i think the best would've been to flow with the movement of the attacker and control him and calm him in a manner where you make him understand that you can overpower him, and that you deserve respect like everybody else without hurting him too much. But to really act in such a control fashion and act this quick is not easy, especially if you don't train in that way.

I guess in a situation like this i would've overeact and wanted to overkill, this is something i have to work on. Work towards Zen and Peace. Because it is easy to be peaceful when everything is quiet and cool, but when the problems arrive, now it is more of a challenge to stay calm and in peace.

And you're right about we need to be careful especially when we're alone and be aware. Peace!!

    1. I need to work towards Zen too. I probably would have overreacted as well.

  2. I think that if a guy that threatens you comes and grabs you, for me it's on, the dude already touched me. However I might have triesd to escape the situation before it got to that, trying to defuse it and trying to keep distance, I say that right now, but in reality I don't know what would happen. but probably would've really tried to get away from the dude instead of just walking away.

  3. What if the dude has a weapon or something, where I live we can't carry weapons, so I would try to escape.

    1. We don't have the right to carry weapons where i live also. So you better make sure that you make the best decision and quickly when a weapon carrier puts your life on the line. Something very hard to do.

  4. It's always good to analyze different situations and learn from other peoples experiences, this keeps you mentally prepared for dangerous encounters
