My Online Training Progress
I just trained this morning online with Sifu Freddie Lee. Since I am in a new location, I now am in Brooklyn, NY. I believe my techniques could have been much better but with enough practice, I think I will pull them off better. There is always room for improvement in everything. The sky is not the limit! Also I have two videos on my sparring. I do not know if Shi Zu is going to approve of the videos but I put them out there just to monitor my progress in sparring. Sparring can give you a sense of reality in a fight. It is spontaneous: it is not like doing drills. In drills, you can predict what your partner is going to do but in sparring it is not easy. I do not want to keep sparring with him over and over because I believe that it is unrealistic. In real life, not everybody is going to react the way he reacted. I think he is trained in Karate before but in real life, you are not going to fight a Karateka, a Taekwondo practitioner nor a MMA fighter. When you are in a real fighting situation, you are fighting people. People are spontaneous therefore expecting everybody to fight you unarmed means you are running away from reality.
As you watched my videos, you will notice that the camera probably died before I could ever finish what I was doing. In my sparring videos, I jammed my left thumb while blocking; thus, finger strength are really important. If my fingers were stronger, I probably would not have hurt my thumb at all. It probably had to do with the way I blocked. If the video was recorded the way it was supposed to, you and I would have seen what happened. Also at the end of the second sparring session, my cousin accidentally punch me in the jaw. I was okay though but I decided to stop because I could have too emotional and this sparring would result to a real fight which is not something I want to do. I do not like hurting people to boost my ego. I wish to be a Martial Artist, not a fighter. Instead of being concerned about how I get punched in the jaw, my cousin was actually bragging about how he beat my up. He was saying:" just show them how I beat you up." I was really upset after he said such thing. I felt like he has been brainwash believing that it is okay to boast about how you hurt someone. He does not understand the dangers of fighting, how can he understand Martial Arts? There was a time in the sparring session that I kick him in the groin but I did not hit him at all. Imagine if I really hit him. This could have result to death!! I do not want you to believe that I am hating on my cousin. Actually, I like him but it makes me sick when people misunderstand the Martial Arts like that but oh well, what do I care? He can go and brag about it if he wants but I don't care anyway. If anyone would like to provide feedback, it would be appreciated because I want improve as much as I can.

Calculus Concept of Divergence
This discovery I made was not something that someone told me about. I discover that within. Yes, this concept was taught by a professor but not the essence of it. To discover the essence, I had to look within. See? Reading is not research! Real research comes from your own experience. If we human beings knew more about tapping on the energy within, we would have got a lot smarter and even more peaceful. Instead of trusting ourselves, we prefer to look for instructions from politicians, news, books, ect.. Therefore, we lost the sense of who we are and we are so separated. I come to get a greater understanding of Bruce Lee saying: "Because of styles, people are separated. They are not united with each other." It is so true! Gotta give the man some credit. But thanks to what I discovered, I have got a greater understanding of myself. Please take a look at the video below. It is also my hope that it can be in the FMK channel as well.
My Birthday Celebration
Two days ago was my Birthday. I reach my 1/4 century age. Exciting huh? I wanted to celebrate it with holding kicks; however, my house does not have enough space for that. Therefore I made a flexing video. Hopefully it will be in the FMK channel very soon. I may not be cut but at least I feel well enough to say that I am healthy. Enjoy

Truth in Electricity
In life, you can learn from pretty much everything. Life is broad so compartmentalize yourself will limit you from enjoying it to the fullest. What is life? It is something that cannot be described nor defined but electricity is one of the truth life can tell us about. Life is not going to actually speak to us; however, we can make a lot discoveries from it. There are lots of things we can learn from electricity. Electricity is felt but usually not seen. Can you see your attraction towards a woman? No you cannot! You feel it. Men and women are respectively positive pole and negative pole. Together relationship happen. You can think of relationship between men and women as... light bulb so to speak. :-).
Yesterday when I was at the library, I noticed that my laptop and my cell phone needed some charge so I plug my laptop. Since I have an Android phone and the charger has a USB port, I connect the USB port to my laptop and I leave my cell phone alone for a while. The bad news is... it did not charge much... Therefore, I asked myself: "What is going on here? Why does it charge so slow?" This leads me to use an actual outlet to plug the cell phone. You know what though, it get charged a lot faster. Mmm... Why? I kept wondering how did it get there so fast. Well let's face it: the computer was plug to the source was it not? Of course! Because I tried to charge my cell phone from my computer it could not absorbed much but when it is plugged to the source it gets there a lot faster. It makes sense now: it reiterate what Shi Zu Lee said on one of his videos: "Learn from the source not the followers of the source." He did not say it like that but you get the idea. Moral of the story: when you want to learn a craft, learn directly from the master of the craft not the student. If you want to be good at soccer learn from great players like Cristiano Ronaldo for example. If you want to learn how to box, learn from Muhammad Ali. You want to know about Christianity, learn from Jesus Christ himself not from the pastors nor priests. They will do nothing but confuse you. You might learn a thing or two from His followers but you will be much closer to truth if you listen to Jesus Christ himself. You might learn something the followers of Muhammad Ali or Cristiano Ronaldo but you will be much better if you learn from the master of boxing or the one in soccer. Why do you think Kobe had gone close to Michael Jordan? It is because he learned from Micheal Jordan himself. Someone that I would like to learn Electricity from is from the man called Nikola Tesla. If you watch his documentaries, you will realize how such a great man he is and how he wanted to make the world a better place. He is someone that I look up to. Few people will get to that level because the Westernized society is always leading towards destruction not creativity. I do not know if I can become another Tesla but as someone who trains in the Martial Arts, I wish to use my techniques for the good not for pointless destruction like the combat sport fighters and street fighters do. I also want to be able to use my programming skills and engineering skills for the good of the world not like Thomas Edison. Edison had a cage fighter's mind while Tesla had a Martial Artist mind. A Martial Artist mind is the source not the cage fighter's. I repeat to you again, plug your charger to the source otherwise your device will not charge as fast.

Programming is Part of Martial Art Training
I am recently in a programming C++ class. I apologize for not being able to train for all these weeks. I guess I let homework get the best of me. Yes I still want to be part of Freddie's Modern Kung Fu. I am not going to give up on becoming my authentic self. The reason why I point out that title is because I love programming. I like how it is related to me. Human made computers and human also program computers thanks to the human mind. In programming, there are algorithms. Algorithms are basically step by step instructions to solve a specific problem. Now when we talk about human beings, who is the programmer here? The answer is the Spirit within.
The human mind is powerful just like a computer is but it needs guidance. I have a confession to make about my own mind. I have been learning a lot of new techniques. Combative techniques are useful for many reasons: for defending yourself against grave dangers, for intensifying your workout, for scientific understanding of your body. However, there are drawbacks to combative techniques too. Be careful here, I am not formulating my opinion based on what Shi Zu Lee or Bruce Lee told me. I am speaking from experience. The more combative techniques you learn, the more you will feel the need to try out your techniques on others. Why is that? The mind! Our mind have been corrupted by society: jealousy, greed, fame, glory are all the diseases the mind has absorbed. Those are what we called viruses. Yes, I have been learning new techniques from Shi Zu Freddie Lee and I felt the need to try them out on others to hurt them. As soon as I witnessed that, I understood why cage fighters do what they do. They were so obsessed by their so called "effective techniques" that they became violent. So yeah, "a technique can become a disease if one is obsessed with it"(Bruce Lee). I come to understand why Shi Zu Lee does not overly emphasize on combative techniques in his videos. Yes he is highly proficient in them but at the same time, he never try to prove himself that he is the best fighter in the world. He is so in tune with his Spirit within that he was able to program himself so he does not get corrupted by his feeling to take on challenges. That requires deep meditation to do so.
Should I give up technique training? My answer is no I will not. Here is my pseudocode for this. Now you might wonder what a pseudocode is. It is a English translation of your programming code so here is the pseudocode: I will practice the techniques I learned until they become part of me, I will put myself in check if I am getting violent. I don't know maybe I will write some if and else statements. I know that I am getting too intellectual but I hope you guys know where I am coming from. Programming is part of Martial Arts too. Do not ever forget that. Peace!

Recognizing Pain, Overcoming Through Spirit
As of late, I have been in a state of elevated pain. Whether this is due to weather or overexertion while training at home, I have noticed that it has become increasingly debilitating. Continuos physical pain is not something that is new to my life, though, and each day presents new challenges on how to overcome it. Sometimes the solution is to simply power through and pray it goes away, other times I have to force myself to not move and focus on my breathing until it passes. I have learned this in my training though that it is possible to not only overcome your pain for a moment, but to completely surpass it. As you grow stronger in your spirit as well physically, things that used to be incredibly painful can become a minor nuisance if you even acknowledge them at all. Other things that you never noticed before will begin to bother you. This is a testament to the body's frailty and how limited we truly are. No matter how strong we get, there will always be a new pain or a new ache that will arise. As I have learned recently, true strength is not based on how little pain you can feel, but how you overcome and surpass the challenge of pain when it blocks your path. For me, I know that the only reason I have the strength to overcome my pain and the desire to become stronger is from God and God alone. He is my strength when I am weak. He helps me to run when I doubt that I can even stand. It is by His strength alone that I am who I am. See, that's the real challenge we as martial artists face. We all desire to be strong and grow, but unless we have a solid foundation and a willingness to learn, we will simply wither. A strong tree can not grow in cement. It needs soft soil to truly flourish and roots that go deep and spread wide to gain its strongest form. Much in the same way, we need to acknowledge that we are weak for the Tree of Life to grow in us and roots of wisdom that grow deep and wide to use the knowledge we gain to its fullest potential. Only then will we bear the fruits of our labor, the ability to teach others and plant the seed that will start this process in them. The real questions now are these, how do you deal with your pain? Do you choose to ignore it, or let it make you stronger? Where does your strength come from, the limits of your being or something far greater than you can even begin to fathom?

FMK Being More Recognized
So me and Jenny went to the Chase Bank in Chicago today to open a business account for FMK, we have just been incorporated, which is exciting. As we were walking out, an Asian woman held the door open for us. As we were leaving, she came back out of the door and said, "hey do you guys have a YouTube channel?" "I recognized you." So she basically recognized us from our YouTube stretching videos and said that we helped her out a lot. It was pretty interesting as this is not the first time this has happened.
This also prepares me for the future, as it can be one of these MMA or BJJ guys that see me and will immediately want to start fighting, well we'll see what happens from here!

The True Origins Of Kung Fu
Sifu, Shunyuan and I were talking yesterday in a philosia video about the origins of kung fu, or should we say martial arts. We agreed that the question of who started it really doesn't make much of a difference, because whoever it was, that was then and this is now, and it's everywhere. Wish I'd have thought about it while we were discussing the matter, but the truth is that martial arts can be traced back even further than any human society, to something that is actually beyond time, and just the same a million years ago as it is today. It is in all of us, and always has been, deeply embedded in our DNA. It's just up to us to allow it expression...

Motorcycles are for sexually frustrated men and insecure women
Motorcycles are for sexually frustrated men and insecure women who think they need to keep up with the sexually frustrated men in order to get respect. It's all a fucking joke. I'm so fucking over people trying to be cool and avoiding their real issues. Check ur fuckin ego always! Noone cares how cool you look. But people will care if you are honest with yourself and with others cuz that shit is way fucking cooler.
....yes my close friend was just in a motorcycle accident that was unnecessary and she went against my warnings. So you know what? fuck it yo! you get what you ask for. Ill show mercy to stupid people but I sure as hell won't ever partake in some ego driven bullshit. I thank god that I see the light and I thank Freddie for teaching me to take care of myself in all situations. (Fully knowing that the best defense of any potentially harmful situation is to not be in that situation in the first place!)
Experience is the best teacher and I only hope this experience doesn't get waisted by this person's ego masking the truth. But then again we all have our own paths. Be safe, be kind, be healthy. Be real.

Limits of Perspective
Would you be willing to lose everything you have in this world to follow something you believe in? Would you be willing to leave your family and friends and everyone you ever knew so that you can take up the calling laid before you? As a follower of Christ, we learn that the Bible teaches that everything in this world will pass away. In light of that, what would you choose to serve? This world that will fade or an eternal Kingdom that will never cease to be? this sermon says it better than I can but it's something to think about. Especially as martial artists. What does it mean to defend yourself if all you have is yourself and nothing else to stand for? http://www.moodychurch.org/watch-online/someone-worth-losing-everything/

Tony Jaa's First Teacher
I came across this gem of an exploration called 'Martial Arts Oddyssey' a few years ago. This evening, I started to revisit it with the Muay Boran episodes, and suddenly caught the whole thing about how the main instructor featured in these six segments was actually Tony Jaa's first teacher, and that Jaa was born in this village. I guess I really didn't catch on to it before, because I didn't really know who Tony Jaa was. I still found these segments worth watching previously, now their significance is all the more enhanced. In any case, I would recommend viewing the entire series of 'Martial Arts Oddyssey', which has a good balanced representation of what's going on out there...

Spontaneous Beauty
Yesterday, I was taking the train to go to school. I encounter a woman who was standing and use the poles to support herself. I would not say that she is so called very attractive. Yes she was pretty cute but according to society, someone who is attractive should be skinny with big breast and big butt. She does not meet these criteria. Furthermore, she was not wearing extravagant clothes. However, I saw a great beauty in her that my mind could not pinpoint at. When she got to sit with me, I told her: "You are beautiful, that's all I want to say to you." Now, I know some people might say: "Are you in love with her?" I am in the sense of seeing her beauty as is but as far as being in a relationship with her, no. Maybe that's what she was thinking when she heard me say something like that. She smiled at first but I notice the discomfort afterwards. My mind kept on wondering: "what's the matter with you? Are you crazy? What is so special about her?" That is the problem of the mind. It is a social phenomenon: it sees beauty only in the body but it is incapable of seeing the beauty as it is; therefore it needs to be dropped otherwise the truth will never come out.
Later on, when I got to school I could never spot that beauty again. I saw many hot girls walking by but I could not spot any beauty unfortunately. To me, they were all wearing a mask therefore they lack realness. All I see is ugliness in them. Whatever is not real is ugly. I met some women as beautiful as the woman on the train but some of them do not live in New York. Maybe the woman I want to be with is a woman with a spontaneous beauty. Not a beauty hiding behind the mask of society. I ain't got time for these masked women.

Kick-Ass 2 is Worst than MMA!
I know this is 2 am but I intend to write about this movie anyway. I feel like I needed to express what I feel about the movie Kick-Ass 2. I watched this movie on Friday with one of my female friends at AMC in Maryland. I am actually in Maryland right now until tomorrow. What we have seen in this movie is some horrible shit! It was filled with blood and violence. The movie is such a collection of killing. Every scene there is blood and killing. They showed how someone is being stabbed in the throat, how police officers are being killed by an extremely muscular woman... I can go on and on about this. It is that horrible. There is no meaning behind the movie whatsoever. Not only it is violent, it is very racist too! It's offensive to almost every minority group including the Asians and the Blacks. MMA was included in the film too. When the villain wanted to know how to fight, he trained with an MMA fighter. Of course, they had to include MMA. They had to include this cage fighting crap so they could piss me off even more! Oh that's not all. There is some nudity in the movie too but just one scene showing two naked women in the pool.
Anyway, for those of you who are still interested in this movie, if you think you can handle extreme violence then go ahead, I don't care. However, I would not recommend you to watch a movie like that one. It is just not healthy for your mind. It's not even healthy for adult, how could Hollywood think that the movie would be for the kids? Hollywood need to rethink their movies completely in my opinion. But unfortunately, they are not going to change the way the movies are made. Why? If they change the movies, they would not generate income. So the best way to respond to a movie like this is to never watch it again. Yes I said it now: I do not promote MMA; however, I do not promote Kick-Ass 2. I would discourage the people to watch this movie even more. The West is violent enough already; therefore, it needs something more peaceful.

Beware The Rectangles
This is probably my favorite off-the-cuff lecture I've ever delivered/ recorded. The whole thing, with slide show, was conceptualized, given visuals, and recorded in a single evening...

No Power
NO
POWER
I
can’t get myself to be in POWER
I’m
not a man of this WORLD
I
just wanted to be with my GIRL
But
the society is against LOVE
Everybody’s
fighting to get ABOVE
There’s
something wrong with the MASSES
I
see it clearly, others need to get some GLASSES
I
can’t be all about the MONEY
But
at the same time I can’t be played for a DUMMY
The
world we live in is very DIRTY
Females
try to get power over you by acting FLIRTY
People
fighting over CASH
Millionaires
building up their STASH
If
you don’t manage it right it’s gone in a FLASH
I
try my best to live a simple LIFE
Just
me my kids and my WIFE
But
I still gotta play this dirty GAME
I’m
being forced to build my NAME
With
that comes the downfalls of FAME
Expressing
the truth is my primary AIM
Destroying
all fantasies, now I’m the one to BLAME
I’m
not looking to be the BEST
To
me this is not even a game of CHESS
I’m
ready to let it GO
I’ll
announce to the world that I don’t even KNOW
I’m
just a real human being that’s going with the FLOW
Downfalls of Fame
DOWNFALLS
OF FAME
The
more fame that you have, the more pressure there is from the society around you
to mold and shape you into their expectations.
It is a sad reality. It is very
difficult to be a real human being, but it is even more difficult to be a real
human being when you are famous. People
will literally pay you to be false.
People will pay you to lie and people will punish you if you speak the
truth.
Socrates
was speaking the truth, the people said, if you keep speaking, we will kill
you. Socrates did not care; he kept
speaking the truth until they took his life away.
In
this society, we are paid money in order to be false. We are not accepted the way that we are. The employer will not hire us if we do not
shave. The employer will not hire us if
we have tattoos that he does not like.
The employer will not hire us if we do not follow the company dress
code. We must mold and shape ourselves
to meet with the employer’s expectations; otherwise we will be fired and be
placed out of work. When we are placed
out of work, we have no money for food or shelter, now we are placed in a
position of poverty because we refused to conform.
If
we do not conform to our employer, then we must conform to the expectations of
our parents or whomever is the head of our household. It seems that no matter what the case may be,
we must conform to someone. Even if we
are self-employed, we are placed in a position where we must conform to the
needs and expectations of our customers, because without customers, we will not
make money, without money, we will once again fall into poverty.
Out
of all this time we spend working 40+ hours in one week, when do we actually
have time to let our guards down and just be ourselves? We wish to express ourselves and be ourselves
on FaceBook to connect with old friends, but then we say something wrong and our
employer finds out and ends up firing us for statements that were made in
social media that did not positively represent the company of which we worked
for.
Everywhere
we go, we are being monitored in what we say and do, inside and outside of work
to the point where we no longer are living true authentic lives. We are simply machines designed for
profit. Everywhere we go, there is
always someone there waiting to exploit us.
Someone there waiting to profit off of us. We never receive the opportunity to truly be
ourselves, we are endlessly living our lives for other people, and we never
live our own lives. This is the tragedy
of life until we finally become awakened.

OLD MAN AT WORK
GLIMPSES
OK...SO I'M GETTING OLD
HAVE A LONG TIME TO KEEP
IMPROVING
WHAT IS AGING.
WE'RE ALL
DOING
TIME
ON EARTH.
OH BY THE WAY...YOU ARE TODAY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED BY
WHAT YOU SEE, HEAR AND DO [SOMETHING OR NOTHING] PAST, PRESENT AND
FUTURE RESIDUALS..
WHETHER YOU HAVE ACCEPTED IT OR NOT ACCEPTED IT
BOTH MUTUALLY HAVE [IN THE MOST SUBTLE AND EXTREME WAYS] INFLUENCE(D)
THE COURSE YOUR VIEW OF REALITY [MOMENT BY MOMENT] PROGRESSES THROUGH
TO ESTABLISH A MINDSET UPON WHICH
YOUR INTERPRETATIONS ARE MADE.
LEARN ABOUT THIS SO THAT
IT DOES NOT DECIEVE YOU INTO THINKING
THAT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN YOUR BRAIN
IS ALWAYS WHAT IS HAPPENING IN YOUR SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT.
LEARNING IS A NOTHING EXCLUDING PROCESS IN OPERATION
INDEPENDENT OF YOUR PREFERENCES AND COMFORT ZONES.
TO THINK OTHERWISE IS LIKE
1. THE IDIOT WHO "KNOWS" THAT NO TREE HAS FALLEN
JUST BECAUSE HE CAN'T HEAR IT OR
2. NO HUNGER BECAUSE HE'S FED OR
HE KNOWS EVERYTHING BECAUSE
HE'S NOT AWARE OF HIS INSIGNIFICANT SIZE IN THE COSMOS AND
THAT THE SIZE OF HIS IGNORANCE IS IMMENSELY GREATER THAN
THE SIZE OF HIS KNOWLEDGE
3. LOOKING FOR A RHINOMITE IN THE AMAZONS...
ETC., ETC....
HUMBLING...ISN'T IT?
THE MORE YOU LEARN
THE MORE YOU REALIZE
HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW.
REMEMBER:
BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD.
ADD TO THE LEARNING PROCESS
BY TEACHING YOUR OWN SELF
FROM AS MANY FIELDS OF KNOWLEDGE WITHIN REACH.
DO NOT MAKE EMPTYIING YOUR MIND
YOUR PRIORITY, UNLESS
YOU WANT TO SIT ON YOUR RUMP ALL DAY LONG.
LIFE IS THINKING, DOING, WEAR AND TEAR AND FROM WHICH
DEVELOPMENT OCCURS.
ATROPHY IS GURANTEED WHEN
1. YOU DISCONNECT FROM
THE DIVERSITY OF LIFE'S RESOURCES
LETS CUT TO THE CHASE- WHEN YOU DO NOTHING TOU GET NOTHING:
NO MAINTENANCE, HOUSE FALLS ON YOU,
note: meanings to our english words are many [get them all] so experiement
by applying recombinant meaning to reconcile them in your own mind.

CARS BREAK DOWN, MUSCLES SHRINK, BONES BRITTLE, NO ONE CHANGES THE BABIES DIAPERS .....WOE!.....ETC...YOU NAME IT.
YOU MUST EXPERIENCE IRRITATION.
YOU HAVE A GOOD REASON TO EMPTY, DISCONNECT, IT'S ON YOU.
YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE ATROPHY, THE DETERIORATION, THE DIMINISHING GAINS.
THERE ISN'T A MAN ALIVE WHO CAN CHANGE THE COURSE OF THE LAWS NATURE HAS INSTITUTED INTO THE HUMAN CONDITION.
After having done all this or during doing all this, take some some out too
to empty your mind.....what a lie! Just make sure you get some sleep for that
part of your Brain in need of it. Meanwhile, in your sleep, your Brain is acticely at work for you.
"It is Emptying," begins the Day we Die and that we have no voluntary control over.
