A MASTER CANNOT BE A TEACHER TO ALL
A
MASTER CANNOT BE A TEACHER TO ALL
True
Martial Arts is never meant to be taught on a mass scale. It is an intimacy between Master and
Disciple, just like the intimacy between Father and Son or Father and
Daughter. You never choose your father,
your father is your father, perfect or imperfect, in actuality he will never be
perfect, he will always be imperfect.
How can one man manage to have thousands of wives and become truly
intimate with each wife? How can one man
manage to have thousands of children and become truly intimate with each
child? It cannot happen. Real intimacy is true love that cannot be
mass-produced. Lust can be mass-produced,
but true love can never be mass-produced.
True intimacy cannot be mass-produced.
A
Real Master of the Martial Arts can only be a Master to a selected few
disciples. Within those selected few
disciples, there is a natural loving connection that is bound by trust. The Master can never be completely open and
trustful of the entire mass of society, only a select few. Just as two parents can only raise a few
children the right way, no man can be a real father to thousands of
children. A man can only be a real
father to a few children.
True
Martial Arts is never meant to become a corporation. Within your individual psychological growth,
you will see a psychologist by yourself, you will not bring thousands of people
with you to see the psychologist, nor will you go see thousands of
psychologists all at the same time. You
will see one psychologist by yourself, when you are by yourself, you can be
open and honest to the psychologist in order for him to help you on your
psychological growth. The psychologist
can only help a few people at a time, he cannot help thousands all at once, he
needs to truly listen to each individual in order to determine the proper
treatment for that specific individual.
A
woman is not meant to be in bed with thousands of men, any woman doing so, you
will quickly see, she has lost her soul, something within her is severely
damaged. A Master is not meant to be a
Master to thousands of disciples; there will never be a true communication
because true communication only occurs on a private level, not in a public
arena. Every disciple’s spiritual growth in the Martial Arts is a very delicate
process, like a hair stylist giving each individual a truly beautiful haircut
that fits that specific individual perfectly, not to just shave every persons
head bald to transform the person into a machine.
A
Master does not turn a disciple into a machine.
A Master teaches the disciple to be authentically real, this takes very
much time and patience, it is a very delicate process. Privacy is essential. Martial Artists are not meant to be trained
the same way soldiers are trained, to just follow orders blindly through the
chain of command. Martial Artists are
nurtured and developed very delicately the same way a child is born and raised
to become a fully expressive and creative adult.
A
doctor does not become a doctor over night.
A lawyer does not become a lawyer over night. A musician does not become a musician over
night. An artist does not become an
artist over night. A Martial Artist
takes over 2 decades of training in order to become somebody that is truly
capable of moving forward to express his own unique way in the Martial
Arts. Your Master is your Master for life;
your father is your father for life.
Your Master will be there to help you grow and learn from life. Your Master does not have all the answers,
but he is there by your side through your entire journey in life to help you
reach your fullest potential.
You
are like a plant, and your master is helping you grow putting you in the right
position towards the sun. Giving you
just the right amount of water, soil, fertilizer, love, and attention. He is helping you grow and bloom to become a
beautiful flower. He is helping you to
grow confidence within yourself to have the courage to be authentically yourself. This entire process does not happen over
night, this entire process does not happen on a mass scale, this is a delicate
process that requires individual attention, love, and trust between Master and
Disciple. A true connection between
Master and Disciple is just as rare to find than true love between a man and
woman. A coach and an athlete is
everywhere, boyfriends and girlfriends are everywhere. But a real Master and Disciple is rare, true
love is rare.

The Soldier vs. The Fighter
THE SOLDIER vs. THE FIGHTER
The solider goes to war; he is prepared to enter
death. The solider is not there to entertain;
he is engaged in real warfare. The
fighter is not engaging in real war, he is there to entertain; there is no risk
of death. The solider has a high risk of
death. The solider has real
courage. The fighter has false
courage. The solider is not playing a game;
it is life or death on the battlefield.
The fighter is a toy solider, he is playing a game, and the game is
inside a boxing ring or cage. The
fighter is a fake solider.
The real solider may never come back from war. The war is real. The fighter will always be alive after the match;
it is a fake war between him and just one other person. The solider is not just fighting one person,
the solider is fighting hundreds if not thousands of enemies in an uncontrolled
spontaneous environment. The fighter is
just fighting one person in a controlled environment. You cannot watch a solider engage in real war
and be entertained like it is a Hollywood movie, all wars can only be told by
stories. You can watch a fighter in
front row seats and be entertained while this fighter is engaging in a fake
war.
THE
REAL MARTIAL ARTIST
The
Martial Artist is more likened to a solider than a Fighter. A Martial Artist prepares to engage in real
war on the streets, he is prepared to enter death. The Martial Artist is not there to entertain
when fighting on the streets, he is engaged in the real war for survival, there
is great risk of death. The Martial
Artist has real courage, he is not playing a game, it is life or death on the
streets. The Martial Artist may die a
real death; like Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, 2pac, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther
King Jr., the war is real. The Martial
Artist is not fighting just one person, the Martial Artist is fighting for the
greater good, they are fighting against corruption in the Martial Arts, against
corruption in the government, against racism, against the Nazi’s. The Martial Artist is fighting hundreds if not
thousands of enemies in an uncontrolled spontaneous environment.

Learning from others and thank you notes
You can learn alot from others about yourself either by their example of how they act towards you or by the way they say how you treat people. For example you can be an asshole to some people because of the way you are feeling and directing your attention to a memory good or bad reflects on how you are at that moment even though that is not your overall opinion about them, your emotions effect your mind, spirit, body and overall health. I leaned that I have a violent temper and that through my teachers and most importantly myself that I have to learn to control it instead of being passive all the time and letting it build up and ultimatly destroy me. Martial arts, meditation ,chi work, cooking , fitness delopment(weight training, biking, cardio training) have a deep meaning to me they show me how to express myself in a healthier way and ultimatly lead to a healthier life. Their are three people especially in my life that I wanted to thank although one has passed away 18 years before I was born his teachings from his movies and books have helped alot, another is my best friend and teacher bobby he is not only my teacher in martial arts but also a close friend who I confide through out my daily life, the last person I want to thank is sifu Freddie lee because without you I would not know how to have push my physical limits and for showing me that your overall fitness matters in the martial arts not so much as the combative techniques. Also seeing your philosophy videos have benifited to my overall development and enlightenment as a total human being. Thank you for expressing the way after all its like bruce said true self knowledge does not come from books it comes from inside ourselves. Thank you for helping me explore myself.
"The So-Called Best Rapper Alive"(X-rated poem)
Had the nerve to say he beat that pussy up like Emmett Till
this motherfucker (or should I say "fatherfucker") is undeserving of a record deal
can't write his own rhymes so he finds famous rappers bars to steal
constantly giving blowjobs to his bald-headed boss for a free meal
unable to speak about anything else but sex & money
his lyrical wordplay is so terrible its not even funny
he deserves a kick amongst the region where it isn't bright & sunny
cow-girling his "daddy" like a playboy bunny
I hate this aforementioned clown with an unwavering passion
just another imbecile advertising homosexual fashion
shucking & jiving on the TV screen corrupting the youth
uttering constant bullshit which hardly amounts to truth
yes I'm attacking your hero fuck him & his swag
kissing men in the mouth like a partial fag
he's not even worthy of me wasting a fraction of my mag
I will rejoice the moment somebody finds his head in a bag
while getting pounded from behind he asks for "daddy" to pull his hair
with that high pitch voice sounding like he lost his pair
wearing those tight ass leopard skin pants showing his underwear
within the dirty ass dreads hides a fairy under there
disrespecting the legendary entertainment icon like a hypocritical little bitch
you can't call anybody gay when it's your anus that has the itch
calling yourself the next 2pac while using that annoying auto-tune pitch
If you're the best rapper alive then I'm a model spokesperson for Abercrombie & Fitch
he is not a legend spitting those weak ass rhymes
can't even diss anybody with his ghost written sublimes
I'm a hungry fox & to me he's the plump hen
I can pull random punchlines out of my ass too Mr. "I am not a human"
any person who calls this man lyrical has to be insane
the most irritating of all rappers simple & plain
he would've been better off as a facial ejaculation stain
to sum it all up, I'm basically saying fuck lil wayne.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO
No complaints for those that do what they love to do. As long as you feel that is what you love to do. No right or wrong.
Lovers loves to love Lol
Fighters loves to fight
Haters loves to hate
Artist loves to express their art (martial artist, dancer, musician, drawer artist etc.)
Skeptics loves to be skeptics
Critics loves to criticize
Healers loves to heal
Trollers love to troll
Players loves to play
Teachers loves to teach
Analyst loves to analyze
Liars loves to lie
Fakers loves to fake
Bullies loves to bully.
Strikers loves to strike
Grapplers loves grapple
Defender loves to defend (themselves and others)
Protectors loves to protect (" ")
Helpers love to help.
Runners loves to run
Gamers loves to play game
Trainers loves to train (anything in general)
Practitioner loves to practice (" ")
etc...
Just do what you love to do. We are all given different and multiple choices to do what we love to do.
Find something you love to do, and do it!
There will be people that might say certain things that people love to do is wrong. Well that's just them and their choice to believe what is right or wrong. There are many things that I feel I should disapprove. But I better not. I say just do what you all love to do.
Many people will realize what they think they love to do is not what they really love to do. DON"T THINK, FEEL WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO.
Ultimately I shouldn't use labels, but I'm just using it to help people understand what I'm sharing.

Randomised Collection of Wise Quotes #2
Hello Everyone!
I haven't posted anything during November as I have been doing end of year examinations. With exams out of the way now I will have much more time to train and write blogs over the next two months before I embark on my last year of secondary school in February 2015.
In this blog I shall be continuing my 'Randomised Collection of Wise Quotes' series of blog posts, quoting sages and writing my interpretative understanding below each quote.
* "The source of human suffering is that everyone chooses one side and refuses to see the other side..." -Liou Kia-Hway
This quote especially applies to wars in my opinion. War is most often based on a lack of understanding, and thus people become scared. When people are scared of the unknown they ether flee or lash out, often starting wars. This seems to be typical human nature.
* "Like the silkworm you have built a cocoon around yourself. Who will save you?. Burst out of own cocoon and come out as a beautiful butterfly, as the free soul." -Swami Vivekananda
I really relate to this one. When many people are born, they are often probably more spiritual then they ever will be in their lives. This is because they haven't yet been forced to conform to society. When I started primary school, I was forced to not be myself. To not be authentic. If I was myself then I would be bullied pretty badly. I had formed that cocoon around myself. Some years later when my parents realised that attending mainstream school was doing me more bad then good, they took me out of school to do home education. It took me years to recover, to find myself and break out of that cocoon that formed during those years of hardship.
* "What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life tomorrow. Our life is the creation of our mind." -Shakyamuni
I believe it was Buddha who said "with our thoughts, we make the world". Basically what I get from this is that we decide our own personal futures.
* "Becoming conscious of what we really are, that is what we call enlightenment". -Zen Saying
A more detailed description of this topic was stated by Taisen Deshimaru: "If we understand our doubts, our sufferings, our life, with every cell in our bodies, this is enlightenment."
* "The key to cosmic awareness, to a consciousness of God, is in the understanding of the soul."
-Rabindranath Tagore
Understand yourself in order to understand the world.
* "Be not Canadian, American, German, Chinese, South African, British, Russian, Iranian, Mexican, etc. Instead be a citizen of the Earth!!!" -Unknown
What ever silly label society gives you, in reality we are all just human beings. What ever language we use, what ever cultural practices we live by, we all have the same basic emotions. We naturally recognise our similarities as infants. When we are old enough we are sent to school to become educated. We are often taught about the difference between countries and people's rather than the similarities. Eventually some of us may realise that these differences are not what is important. What is important is that we are all human beings with the same emotions as each other. That is why we should treat others in the same way that we ourselves wish to be treated.
* "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
-George Bernard Shaw
I see so much truth in this. I know a gentleman of 94 years of age, a veteran of the Second World War. He is very involved with the church and the local community. Only last year he was president of about 7 local clubs. By being active and helping people, he has given his heart a reason to beat.
* "Nature does not rush, yet everything is accomplished." -Unknown
There is so much truth to this. I don't even know were to start. We may rush things such as projects in life, and this can often result negatively in the short or even long term. Things often tend to work out well in the end, especially if they are let to go at there own pace - naturally. To let go of the control of many things is probably to let go of the ego. To summarise my interpretation of this teaching, I shall say: "Just let go and things will sort themselves out."
* "Simplicity is the most difficult of all things." - Swami Ajaya
Throughout our lives we have been trained to understand complexity and to further complicate things. I see that this is necessary; however, what is also necessary is that we always remember how to keep things simple. This is difficult because society dose not promote this. And thus an imbalance has been created. It is up to the individual to rediscover simplicity. Not too many people achieve this. It is after all, "the most difficult of all things". I think that to have successfully completed the circle of simplicity to complexity to simplicity again, is part of the journey of enlightenment.
* "Our everyday life is in the realm of good and bad, the realm of duality, while Buddha nature is found in the realm of the absolute, where there is no good and no bad." -Shunryu Suzuki
Something that is good for me is not necessarily good for someone else. My good could be your bad and my bad could be your good. So how could there be a universal good and bad? I believe that Buddha saw this, and thus he no longer saw the world as ether being separated into the good and the bad, but saw himself, the world, the universe as a single entity. He saw it as the absolute, or as some may refer to it - the whole.
* "The cosmos is everything: the stones, the mountains, the trees, the flowers, the grasses, the stars . . . all that is nature and all that is not nature, the artificial and all products that are human, material and spiritual, and space and time." -Dogen Zenji
Everything is one. Everything has always been one. Everything will always be one. I am not different to you. Therefore, it would be senseless not to show each other anything but respect.
* "All things that have flowered return to their root. This returning to the root has a name: Quite."
-Lao Tzu.
I so have to read the Tao Te Ching! I really like this quote. I kind of understand what Lao Tzu is expressing; however, I'm not sure how to put the meaning of this teaching into words. So here's a question I have for you guys. How do you interpret this wise teaching?
Thanks for reading!

Fist of Fury: Why I wear a Tungsten Carbide Ring...
Wei here - Shout out to the FMK community! I know I don't post as often as I should, but I'm trying to get more involved on the blog lately.
So most people wonder why I wear a ring on my left index finger. It's a random story - I was in Amman, Jordan three years ago. There was a street vendor selling stainless steel rings for 1 Jordanian Dollar. I decided I wanted one and found one that fit comfortably in my index finger. I began to wear it habitually. If I lost the ring, I felt like Gollum from Lord of the Rings, "I lost my precious!" Haha. Eventually one day, the ring actually split in half and I wanted to find a replacement.
I decided I wanted something that would last me a long time. In high school I had a Physics teacher that told us about Tungsten Carbide wedding bands. The rings are very dense and I figured that would be something cool that wouldn't break on me. I looked on amazon and was surprised to find some that were pretty darn cheap. I found one I liked and have been wearing it ever since. (My inner Gollum is happy....Precious.)
Why I recommend this for other people who wear rings?
- This ring is really dense. Since Tungsten Carbide is the 2nd hardest substance next to diamonds it's nearly indestructable and scratch proof (Note: Don't get one with any paint on it. The paint will scratch, but the ring won't.)
- It can easily help you in a fighting situation. This ring is like having brass knuckles on a finger. If you punch leading with it you'll do heavy damage. I've had to take it off sparring because even when safe sparring people say it really hurts.
So yeah a fashion accessory that's not expensive, can double as a wedding band, and if you're in a fight it can give you an edge (while still being legal) - Like Sifu says we need to use things that aren't labelled weapons, but can indeed help us in an emergency situation.
Here if anyone was interested. Really make sure to get the right size. These things can't be resized. Got to like a dollar store or something and try on different rings. Also, note some rings are American sizes and some are Chinese so Google the conversion.

Here if anyone was interested. Really make sure to get the right size. These things can't be resized. Got to like a dollar store or something and try on different rings. Also, note some rings are American sizes and some are Chinese so Google the conversion.

Turning Your Career into Your “Kung Fu”
“We are all born with natural talent, if you are in
tune with your natural ‘Way’ you will accomplish great things in life.” – Sifu
Freddie Lee, Reflections Volume I
Many people believe the term “Kung Fu” applies
solely to Chinese martial arts. In reality, Kung Fu is finding your path to
true expression. It’s dedicating yourself to truly mastering something. A
person at a firm could be practicing Kung Fu every day, while others may not.
What’s the difference?
·
Kung Fu practitioners aren’t
motivated by external rewards. If position, pay,
status, etc. are solely why a person does what they do, it’s not Kung Fu. I’m
not saying pay isn’t important because everyone needs to make a living, but it
shouldn’t be the reason you are in a certain profession. If you don’t exactly
like your job completely, work toward finding joy in it. Just because you
haven’t landed that dream career yet doesn’t mean you can’t be fulfilled at
work. Take pride in the work you are doing. Even if you work making copies or
as a receptionist, treat every task like it’s valuable- because it is.
·
Kung Fu is finding a balance.
Let’s say you wake up in the morning and love your job. Your career is all you
think about. When you’re at work, hours fly by and you get lost in what you are
doing. While this is good that you are enjoying your craft, there needs to be
moderation. If you’re constantly attached to your work or find yourself putting
that in front of your personal life, it may be too much. Kung Fu is knowing
when to balance work and home life. Sometimes you need to put the laptop away
and make some time for you. That means taking time to take care of yourself.
Many people skip meals or eat out and that can do some damage to the body.
Don’t forget to take a few hours to distress yourself and make sure you are
healthy.
·
Kung Fu is always striving for
better. Like a martial artist, one must always keep
pushing their limits. Today you might be at the top of your game, but tomorrow
you might find that there are new advances in your respective field. Always
look for new things to learn in your craft. Kung Fu is the idea that everyone
has a lesson they can teach you. Use your mistakes as a tool to get better. Treat
every experience as a learning experience.
