Here's my newest video. Eventually, I'll get better at making videos. I plan on getting a gorilla tripod soon for my camera. Lately, my daughter wants to exercise more with me instead of holding the camera.
I should also be getting an FMK shirt any day now. I'm looking forward to that.
I probably will not be going for the rank, but I do still want to meet the fitness standards.
Sorry, I'll try to quit doing that. I fixed it. I like it that she's interested in fitness and stuff. It's good for kids to think that it's fun instead of something that's terrible to do.
It really starts with leading by example. For example, if you eat healthy and your fridge is full of healthy foods, the kids will have no other choice but to eat healthy with you or starve. But if you have junk food laying around, now they will pick and choose, they will refuse the healthy foods for the junk food because now they have that option. And it was you who provided them with that option.
I agree. Even I eat more junk food if that's what is laying around. I tried to show my girl that vegetables actually are good food, and not just something that is gross that you "have" to eat. I had a little garden for a while, and she would ask for swiss chard for a treat. Hopefully my boy will be like her with that. My kids are exposed to both sides though. My husband isn't as much into health as I am. I just hide the junk food when it becomes a problem.
I got my shirt today! It's really nice and it fits me good.
They work a lot better when I'm not swinging like a monkey! I am glad that the park here has the high monkey bars and the parellel bars too. Don't you have a pull up bar in your house? I wish that I could get one of those.
I do have one in my house, but again it's not high enough that I can hang fully extended with my feet off the ground. I was going to tell you though, since you need to develop on your pull ups, a good way to do it is to find a somewhat lower bar, one that allows so you can jump up into the full pull-up position, and then slowly as possible let yourself down, then jump up again, repeat. It's like negative pull-ups, but it'll get those muscles stronger so you should be able to start doing more than a couple per set
I find that the thick bars are more difficult. There's kind of an optimum size for grip, not too thin, not too fat. But I use what's available, either way
You are doing a very good job. It's too bad you do not want rank but you could have get to the red rank in no time from what I saw in your video. I guess it's your own choice not to get rank. I am also glad that your daughter want to exercise with you instead of just holding the camera. Hey, that's even a better way to connect with her. In family, children tend to follow their parents or elders. Therefore, like Shi zu said we should lead by example. Hope to see you and your daughter on a video very soon. Congratulations on getting your FMK shirt! Hope you wear it good.
I keep changing my mind about the rank thing. Either way, I'm going to train the fitness test to pass it and exceed it whereever I can. I just don't feel the need for a badge right now. I don't plan on putting in any less effort either way. I've thought about going for the badge to show a higher dedication, but I can show that equally both ways. I might be more likely to want rank also if I actually got in there and got some more hands on training. But for now, I'll just stick to my light blue FMK shirt. I did find a cheap tripod, so she might be in one of my next videos.
The video is on private. I think it is great that your daughter wishes to get involved.

Your L-raises are looking a lot more controlled now, very good. I wish I had bars like that in my neighborhood playground, tall enough to hang from

DeleteI'll try that. Does it matter if it is a thicker bar, like the top of a kid's swingset?
