Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is ridged and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome what's ridged and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.

I love this quote because to me the water symbolizes the martial artist and the rock symbolizes the mma fighter.

ReplyDeleteI love Lao-tzu, the wisdom he shares is timeless. Unlike any other sage that has ever existed, his teachings are very short and simple but yet contain so much. You can read the Tao Te Ching thousands of times but yet still learn more and more as you age.
