Introduction of FMK Dragon
The video below is my introduction to the FMK family. I have been training under him for two years now.
So far, I really enjoyed the training. I moved from Maryland to Queens, New York so if anyone is interested in joining FMK from New York, contact me so we can train together sometimes. In case you are wondering about the title of the blog, I was born in 1988 which is the year of the Dragon. I just turned 24 today! Maybe Bruce Lee is not the only Dragon who is also a martial artist! Now, I am starting to think that it's possible for me to go beyond him. Soon I will make a video about the meaning of the word Dragon.

  1. Thanks for this intro Kang. It was really nice to hear your views on what the benefits of FMK are and why you decided to train with this kwoon. I also appreciated your views on the YouTube hater crowd. I've been reviewing a lot of the past comments on some of the videos, and it really just blows me away how negative people can be. I can understand being argumentative, or debating, but some people are all-out malicious. People like that really do need to get a life, go do something else rather than watch and comment on these videos. Gee... even just the other day I posted a video where I was practicing katas. Somebody right away gives it a thumbs-down. Like they don't seem to get it that this is just me practicing, and posting it for the purpose of sharing what I'm doing with the others in FMK, or even with others I don't know who are interested in FMK. Not like I'm posting it because I think it's the most amazing demonstration of a kata or anything. But hey, what are you going to do. It's a public space, and some people are going to be negative. So be it. By the way, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your practice videos. You and Ling. Like maybe something weekly, just so that the few of us online can kind of work with each other, in this virtual sense, to really develop the online kwoon to its potential. What do you think?

    1. Easy solution, turn off the voting. Art is not meant to be judged. A butterfly will spread its wings no matter if you like it or not, it has nothing to do with you. As you get more involved with posting, you will quickly see how annoying it is bumping into the haters, but the good always comes with the bad, for the most part, there is more positive than negative, it comes with the game

    2. Thanks, Sifu... I can deal with them. It surprised me though, how much even a silly thumbs-down could affect me. I think it could be good to face that kind of negative energy and learn to be less affected by it. But if it starts to really get to me and turn me negative too, I need to have the sense to cut them off

    3. Yeah you are right about the haters. I think I got a thumb down right after Sifu posted my video on his channel. I got more positive than negative but still it annoys the hell out of me! Oh well, I guess the only way is to turn off the voting and the commenting like Sifu said. That would be a great idea. So far, it seems that we are the only online Todai so far. I had a friend in Maryland who would love to join FMK but we never got to train with each other. Hopefully I find someone suitable enough to train with me.

  2. Thank you for sharing Kang, I enjoyed watching the video, I hope to see you on here more often, you have some wisdom to share, let the world know that I am not alone in my thoughts on what real Martial Arts is supposed to represent. The Dragon needs to come out of its cave.

    1. You are right. Maybe, I am also the Dragon tatoo on your back. Haha. I also come to the realization that Bruce Lee does not have a race nor a gender. He was born in the year of the Dragon just like me. There might be female Bruce Lees out there too. I am so looking forward to see some of them. Maybe you are not the only Bruce Lee. You are definitely not alone.
