Fitness Test

Here's another attempt at making a fitness video.  Sorry if it's terrible.  I've had a really hectic week and haven't gotten much sleep because of my baby. His first tooth poked through yesterday, so at least or sleepless nights have accomplished something.
I think this is more of a blooper fitness than a zen fitness video.  I think I'll cover it with music before you post it on the website.  My kids kind of made it funny, and my baby just HAD to make that spitting sound right as I did the splits attempt.

  1. Damn Lian! You are doing great. Yeah you are right. your kids made it funny haha. I was also wondering... do you feel anything when you are holding your front and side kicks? You do them with such ease.

    1. Thanks! I sometimes feel it a little when I do the side kick holds. I just have troubles with the balance sometimes. The hardest thing for me is the push ups. I could only do 5 when I joined, but I've been really working on it.
I've had some practice with the front kicks before with tai chi. They do the slow motion kicks. Sometimes I have really bad back pain, especially after I had my babies, but sometimes from sitting at my computer working too. The tai chi type of exercises can actually make my back completely stop hurting.

    2. Wow. Tai Chi is a very interesting style. Its healing power is incredible. I don't mean to be sexist but for a woman with kids, your push ups are really good. You could actually go down and up without resting your knees on the floor. Keep it up. I am sure one day you will get to the red rank. How is the CLF form going so far?

    3. For the CLF, I've been working on adding the forearm hardening part. I've been working a lot, so I haven't had much time to study the other videos yet. I'll eventually make another video of my progress.

    4. Yeah I know how it feels when you have to work so hard. But whenever you can, I will forward to your other video of your progress. Again good job and keep it up.

  2. Aaah Lian, I thought that was great. Humor is a wonderful thing, and your little videographer/ commentator with the running narrative is fantastic! I loved the camera going up and down with your squats, and the sound with the splits, and the hand coming into view with that last bit of the kicks, and the constant suggestion that the video should be started over. It's all priceless. You've got to save these. As far as the fitness techniques go, like Kang said, you're doing great and your range of controlled motion is very good. Sorry to hear you've had such a hectic week, but shake it off, try to get some sleep, and keep at'er

    1. I was hoping that you guys might get a laugh out of it. I just sometimes worry that I'll do something really dorky and get famous on the internet for it. You're right, I should keep the video. It will be funny to look back on it after my kids are older.

Most of the things that made my week hectic are actually good things. I love my kids; I love my job, and I love my messy house. I just had added stress from dealing with difficult people, but that's just a part of life. I'll get over it. I'm sure I'll eventually catch up on sleep. I think that's why babies are so cute, so you can get up after only a couple of hours of sleep and still smile at them.
