Sidai Bang's Opinion of the new Rank

I agree with Sifu, and with you as well Ali. To me, it doesn't matter whether you wait a year, a day, two years, two hours to try and go for the red rank, what's really important is maintaining the rank. Getting involved with the Kwoon, being an instructor in order to generate income is very crucial to the rank because then more people will be attracted to the Kwoon. See my problem is this: Being a red rank entitles more than just the title. It means having more responsibility. It means representation of the Kwoon, in and outside of it. I'm not worried about how much time it takes to get the rank. It all depends on your preference. If you feel you are fit enough to achieve it in a day, two years, three months, etc--cool, kudos to you.  What really matters is staying involved with the Kwoon, devoting time to the well-being of it and generating funds in order to keep the doors open.

This is true. It's a discipline of ones patience, and great things will happen in time.

Hope you're recovering fast, so you can get back to training!

    Take Care.

  3. Wow! The new rules for rank have definitely stirred some thought! I want to be very straight-forward with you, Brother Bang... You need to get back to training in the Kwoon, injury or not. Reason being, your injury is an opportunity for all of us to learn how to utilize our training for healing. That's an important lesson. We may have some Todai in the future with knees that get seriously tweaked, and we should be able to draw from experience to guide their healing IN the Kwoon. So in other words, by going off to heal on your own, you're denying us that learning opportunity. You could be an instructor for us all right now, using your injury. And with that, I hope to see you back in there pronto, haha! Much respect
