Comedians are very good at bringing racism out and treating it as a spectacle for everyone to examine. Maybe this is what Jackie Chan is trying to do in films like Rush Hour, when he pairs himself with a prototypical obnoxious American. Yeah, it might backfire, and you might have a bunch of idiots afterward repeating the line, "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?" But those people were idiot racists to begin with, and they missed the point. The comedy is there to call this racist stuff to our attention, not to reinforce it. I bring this up after watching a Katt Williams show on YouTube this evening. I really laughed at some of this stuff about White people, especially the leash on the kids. This is some racist stuff, but it needs to be brought out for public critique. And the safe way to do that, without really hurting anyone's feelings is to use comedy...
That was pretty funny. I saw a couple of his videos for the first time last night, I'm interested in seeing more of his.
