Hello SIMUI AI!

I wanted to share some very exciting news! As of last night I earned Red Rank as a Zen Fitness Trainer, Simui Ai!

What you didn't know was right before I got tested, I went through some hardcore cardio & upper body training with one of Sifu's fitness clients. I'm talking about 500+ jumping jacks, 50-100 reps of lifting, and etc. Out of all nights, yes, that's when Sifu asked me if I was ready to get tested...and ofcourse I was! If anything, I wish that hour made it on video too! haha I'm not complaining though, because I woke up in no pain today, and feeling GREAT!

This past year has amazed myself on how much I've progressed. When I was testing I kept thinking back to how impossible I thought all the upper body training I'd have to do when I first walked in (Feb. 18, 2012) and here I am now! Thank You Sifu! once again, and to all the Todai's online & in the kwoon for motivating me! I'm excited for what this year has to come for me and the kwoon. I'm sending all my positive energy on here on to everyone else to know you can do it too! (with much patience, hardwork, and dedication I KNOW you can!)

  3. Congratulations Ai! I am really proud of you. You showed true dedication in your training and it paid off. But remember that you can always improve. It's only the beginning. Looking forward to see you progress even further. I am still working toward the ranking too but I do not know if I can get the split machine for now. I don't think my house have enough space. But other than that, I think I can manage.

  4. Simui Ai! Congratulations, you worked very hard to get to the red rank and you deserve it! I placed the order for you zip hoodie and I ordered 25 red female tanktops to have on hand for all the other ladies that are about to get rank as well! I was able to get your name on the hoodie, which is a great thing! Keep up the good work in your training, lets go for the Blue now! I still have to figure out how to get your sore! But at least I did figure out how to bruise you up! LOL

    1. It's time to retire my white tanktop. I think it's the inner Greek in me. I feel like I just earned my 'letters' and now I need my customized 'line jacket'. haha
I'm excited to join the guys in learning the forms, and Ofcourse, I'll keep up with my fitness & more. When Wei recovers it'll be great to motivate eachother to get blue! (just give me another 2 yrs or so. lol) & ayyy! Good Luck with that then. Your evening class is already like FMK boot camp.

I just want to tell you that I am very proud of you !!!!Red is your color wear it proudly ;)))
You got to Red trough your hard work and dedication and I want you to know what you are a great motivation for me:) Staying in sick in bed for the past two weeks make me realize that training is a privilege just like being strong and healthy. We should never take it for granted. I ll be back to the training next week and I can't wait to catch up with you guys:) We are all blessed that we are part of the school that insures multilateral growth with the respect towards who we are. I believe that trough great example one can be more motivated better than trough the pressure and negative reinforcement. I admire the fact that you stayed focused training and you didn't advertise that fact that you are red until I saw you wearing the shirt :)) That shows humility and true spirit of a martial art.
Great job Ai and I ll work hard to catch up with you :)

It's great to have you on here! I look forward to seeing you on the blog!

Thank you for such a thoughtful post! I'm glad Sifu told me to check back on here, because I didn't get notifications (but that's fixed now). Like I said back in Chinatown you all seriously motivate me! and so I'm glad I could play that role for you in your progress. Sick or not you're doing amazing! Everyone has their set backs physically, but our mentality and spirit is still strong. I'm telling you! Next time we train together we're getting you to red! that's our goal together! lol..I know you're almost there!!!
