Marriage Promotes Ego Not Love

People will use marriage to enhance their egos.  You will see it on FaceBook all the time.  People will actually think they are better than you because they are married and you are not.  Women will compare how much their rings are worth and make themselves feel good if their rings are of greater value than yours.  People will compare how extravagant their weddings are compared to other weddings and make themselves feel good about themselves.

People will compare how many children they have compared to others and make themselves feel good about themselves.  People will compare how successful their children have become compared to others and make themselves feel good about themselves.  People will find any and all ways to enhance their egos.  Marriage is not used as a way to symbolize love but it rather is used as a way to enhance the ego.

People like to brag to others, “look how much my ring costs,” “look how extravagant my wedding is,” “look how beautiful our wedding photos are,” “look how beautiful my wedding dress is,” “look how beautiful our kids are,” “look how happily married we are,” “look how perfect our life is,” “don’t you wish you have the life that we have?” “aren’t I such a lucky person.”

It really is ridiculous and you clearly see this shit all over FaceBook, the big egos craving for attention and recognition.  And for what?  Just because they are married, wow.

  1. Oh people love to brag about their weddings. I don't if I am going to get married but couple of years ago I was talking to one of my best friends about marriage. She told me that marriage does not make you love the person more and she right. If you want to spend the rest of your life with the one just go ahead and do it! You do not need the priest, judge or your families and friends to tell you that. Anyway, yesterday I logged on Skype and I could not see you. Was everything ok?
