Relationships & FaceBook

Relationships & FaceBook

Modern technology has made it very difficult for men and women to be “faithful” within relationships.  Cell phones, text messaging, FaceBook, etc. have created some serious challenges for all relationships.  Engaging in activity within the FaceBook network is similar to constantly being at a dance club full of individuals looking to hook up.  Now if you are happy with your partner, then why would you go to the dance club when you can be spending quality time with your partner at home?

Being on FaceBook is similar to being at the dance club.  For many relationships, FaceBook creates arguments, insecurities, and jealousies.  First the communication begins & then eventually it can easily lead to flirtation.  Next thing you know your talking about hooking up and then everything is tracked.  Flirt with a woman 1 year ago and it can come back and haunt you because the message is stored in the facebook achieve forever.  Your partner finds out and then gives you shit over it even when it happened 1 year ago and you didn’t even come close to getting any to begin with, it was just “harmless” flirtation, but she is treating it as if you had a full blown affair.

In a regular dance club, flirtation occurs all the time but it is not forever tracked.  You might be in a relationship but decide to hang out at the dance club with your boys and flirt around with a few women for shits and giggles, but it does not harm your relationship in anyway because it is something that just happens in the moment and is not forever recorded in some archive.  Your partner never knows about this flirtation and things are fine.  But with FaceBook, all communication is tracked & this can and will lead to some nasty arguments within relationships.  Receive a random message from an ex-girlfriend and you won’t hear the end of it from your partner.  FaceBook is a huge distraction to any couple that intends to engage in a serious relationship.

  1. So the problem with Facebook is that it can reveal the truth that your partner wouldn't otherwise be aware of? I can totally relate to this post. At the same time, I can't blame the technology and its archive for causing me any grief. Significant flirtations can come back to bite you, whether it be online or elsewhere. The problem, as I see it, is more that these flirtations are taboo in the first place, than that they are found out

  2. You can be sitting on the bus with your girlfriend, she can kiss you and tell you she love you and then send a text message to a big ugly guy named Bob on Facebook and tell him she wants him and you couldn't even tell. Now that's some bullshit. But thanks to those answering machines, that's how i caught up my ex girlfriend cheating lol.
